Our story
A Research Initiative Designed for Systems-Level Impact
Phoenix Health Research Institute was founded to bridge the gap between research and real-world impact. Too often, important public health and mental health research remains confined to academic journals, disconnected from the communities it is meant to serve. PHRI was created to change that.

We exist to design, implement, and disseminate community-centered research that improves health outcomes, reduces stigma, and advances health equity — particularly for historically underserved populations. Our work integrates rigorous methodology with practical application, ensuring that research translates into policy, education, and measurable community benefit. We are supported by a national research network spanning clinical care, public health, and healthcare leadership.

PHRI was built on a simple belief: research should not sit on shelves — it should move systems.
